"What should I wear? Should I skip breakfast?" If you're heading in for your first body analysis, these are exactly the right questions.
The answers are simpler than you might expect — and a few small decisions before you walk in can make your results significantly more accurate.

DO These Before Your Scan

Wear Fitted Sportswear
Wear Fitted Sportswear

✅ Wear Fitted Sportswear

Bodydot's 3D camera measures your body's external shape. The closer your clothing fits to your actual body, the more accurate the reading.
Good choices:
  • Leggings or compression shorts
  • Fitted athletic tops or crop tops
  • Swimwear (check your studio's policy)

✅ Tie Up Long Hair

Hair draped over the shoulders and neck can obscure the measurement lines around those areas. Pull it up into a bun or secure it with a clip before stepping in front of the camera.

✅ Stand Naturally

This one surprises people. Don't try to stand perfectly straight. Don't pull your shoulders back. Don't tighten your core.
The AI Body Analyzer is designed to capture your real, everyday posture — not a posed version of it. Your natural stance is the most accurate baseline.

✅ Measure at the Same Time Each Session

For Before/After comparisons to be meaningful, consistency matters. Try to schedule your scans at roughly the same time of day, in the same clothing, under the same conditions.

DON'T Do These Before Your Scan

Wear Loose or Baggy Clothing
Wear Loose or Baggy Clothing

❌ Wear Loose or Baggy Clothing

Oversized t-shirts, hoodies, skirts, or coats hide the body's actual lines. The camera sees the shape of your clothes — not you.

❌ Measure Immediately After Intense Exercise

Hard training can temporarily cause muscles to swell and shift your posture. Rest for at least 30 minutes after a workout before stepping in front of the camera.

❌ Deliberately Correct Your Posture

Standing "at attention" to look better in the scan defeats the purpose. The goal is to know where you actually are, not where you wish you were.

❌ Wear Bulky Accessories

Thick necklaces, large earrings, and bulky headbands can create measurement noise around the neck and shoulder area. Remove them before scanning.

Common Questions

Can I eat before my scan? Yes. Bodydot measures external body shape, not internal body composition — so food intake has no meaningful impact on your results.
Can I drink water? Absolutely. Water doesn't affect 3D body shape measurements. (This is different from InBody, which uses an electrical current and is sensitive to hydration levels.)
What about pregnant women? Bodydot uses a non-contact 3D camera — no radiation, no electrical current. That said, body shape changes significantly during pregnancy, so we recommend discussing with your trainer before measuring.

Your Pre-Scan Checklist

Fitted sportswear packed and ready
Long hair tied up
Accessories removed
At least 30 minutes of rest after exercise
Mindset: relax and stand naturally
That's all it takes. The AI Body Analyzer handles everything else.
